Rules of Derby:

This is a derby to help the Claremont Skateboard Park purchase equipment as needed to better their park. This is the first Jason W Hagerman fishing derby, with more to come each year, depending on the turnout.  Take a kid fishing and enjoy the day with someone you love.  The enjoyment you share with your child will remain with you and your child for the rest of your life, and theirs.

Top Prize for the derby will be up to 50% of the net proceeds.  The other 50% will be donated in Jason W Hagerman's name to the park. (Limitations apply, see rules below.)  Other prizes donated by area businesses will be drawn at the end of the day.  Over 20 prizes will be given away in a random drawing.  All prospective winners must be present to win.  Food will be available thru out the day, at the Kiwanis Food Wagon.  Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Soda, Etc.

To qualify for the top prize of the derby, participants must purchase a "team pass".  A team will consist of an adult, over the age of 16 and at least one minor child, under the age of 16.

At 3:00 pm, the derby will end.  Prizes will be awarded at this time.  All members of the team must be present to claim prize.

Qualifying Rules for Measurement:

Derby participants can enter as many fish as they want, but only the largest of their fish will make the board for qualifying.  Participants are allowed to fish anywhere in the Connecticut River.  Fish must be alive when weighed in and disposal of the fish is the responsibility of the participant. In order to qualify, all entered fish must be in season, and of legal size. Note: Black Bass are out of season for this event.

Measurements will be as follows:  Weight + Length divided by 9.  This will give you a score and we will carry the digets to the 4th place.   Example:  17 (Length) + 2.50 (Weight) divided by 9 = 19.5000.  This is the score for this fish, and this number is put on the board.

50% of the proceeds from this derby will be donated to the Claremont Skateboard Park to be used for maintenance of their equipment and to help purchase new equipment.

PRIZES:  Top Prize: up to 1/2 of the net proceeds, paid in form of check, up to $499.00 maximum prize money. Money's above this amount will be added to the donation to the skateboard park of Claremont, NH.   All names of the non winning teams will be used in a drawing for the rest of the prizes.

About Jason: (Below)

Jason Hagerman was my grandson.  He was a young boy who lived his life to the fullest, from his love for his siblings and family to his love for fishing and many other sports, such as skateboarding and soccer.  He was taken from us at a very young age, from all who loved him.  To honor his memory, we have started the First Annual, Jason W Hagerman Memorial Fishing Derby.  Proceeds from this derby will benefit another of his loves.....skateboarding.  The derby is a 50/50 derby, with 1/2 going to the winners and the other half will be donated this year to the Claremont Skateboard Park to help with costs associated with running the park.  William B Kennett, Owner, New Hampshire Fishing Tackle.
