Growing
and pressing flowers has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl
growing up in
England. My parent’s gardener gave the flowers fanciful names such as
"dancing fairy flower” for columbines and “pixie trumpets” for
honeysuckle and my Nanny helped my little eager fingers press buttercups,
daisies and pansies to make cards for birthdays and especially for
Mother’s Day.

Now I put all my pressed flowers to work to create lampshades and to
decorate around matted wedding invitations or special announcements which
I frame to make a lasting memory.
I grow a lot of the flowers I press in my own garden in beautiful
Southern Maine. I am a member of the Southern Maine Garden Club, where I have spoken on several
occasions on the art of pressed flowers. I also belong to the World Wide Pressed Flower Guild.
