Constance Pavliska lives in Old Town, Maine with her family. She is the proud mother of two married daughters and has recently completed her BFA in Studio
Art and her BA in English at the University of Maine. She enjoys her dogs and her gardens. Constance finds that the Maine
out of doors, as well as, the interaction of thought and language seems to shape her understanding and to be an abundant source
of ideas and inspiration for her work. She feels that as painter and poet; the two seem to urge each other onward: with poetry
expanding and articulating the subject matter and paint seeking rhythm and emotion merging the two to some form where it is
no longer clear where one begins and the other ends.

"after a minor injury that damaged a nerve and left me with a chronic pain syndrome known as fibromyalgia
more than a dozen years ago now that sent me to scary excruciating isolating places where the pain is where a cane
helps me keep my balance when it's off and pills are on the menu. Still I felt all curled up within myself begging my
own body to please not hurt me so much. But then I found my art with the help and encouragement of my family, friends, mentors,
Professors, Physicians and especially my Marilyn at Bangor Internal Medicine who has been and is with me still; cajoling,
prodding but most of all, hearing. The Sunflowers watercolor was one of my first pieces and hangs on my Marilyn's
office wall as a much deserved thank you. My art opens
the isolation and the pain flows vivid color-filled enthusiasm on blank canvases that I can narrate however I wish and
my world, a continuous supply of subject matter through filters of choice for Art...how great is
that?..."
