16:30 1 large chick begging from nest. I was soon spotted by F (don't know where she was perched) & she & a fledged chick flew & circled the nest area. They both vocalized, nice crisp cries from F & erratic, nasally sounds from Y. I retreated & both settled in nearby snags, but then Y flew off to the NW OOS. 16:59 Y is back to south of nest. I can't see it thru the trees, but its begging is loud & incessant. 17:12 Y flew back to the nest & now both chicks are vocalizing. 17:35 both chicks still vocalizing. 17:49 F flew to the side of the nest & both chicks are up expectantly. Doesn't appear that adult brought anything & begging continues. F then flew to N side of the pond & made a pass at a heron near its nest causing a loug squawk, then flew south past the nest & perched on snag on the SW side of the pond. Several minutes later the fledged chick used its wings to 'dance' about the nest, then flew to perch in a snag on the south end of the pond and things quieted down.

09:10 F & 2 chicks are visible in the nest. F made several quick flights around the pond, but returned to the nest or the tip of the nest support branch to perch. Chick took turns at pumping their wings then plopping down in the nest to rest.

11:00 F standing high & alert on the nest. She remained in this position with no other sign of activity within the nest for the next 35 minutes. I then succumbed to the leaking of my leafy canopy after ~20 minutes of rain. No view of chicks.

19:15 M perched on N facing nest tree perch; 2 heads visible in the nest; one is F who spots me & starts vocalizing, then flew, circling the pond centered around the nest. M flew to the far W side of the pond & perched atop another snag & remained there. F returned to the abandoned M & remained there vocalizing occasionally even though I had retreated back into the tree. Only the initial view of one chick, otherwise it was down & OOS in the nest.

Osprey--2, with 1 on nest, but flew off to a nearby tree when it saw me. Approach cautiously and try to stay behind the tree line to avoid spooking this bird.

The light was perfect, and not only did I see the herons and the Great Horned Owl, but at least one and probably two ospreys as well.
