Friday, August 13.

While we were taking these pictures we couldn't help but notice the thunderstorm coming across the plains. It was late in the afternoon and it had gotten quite hunid. Looking off over the show field the entire sky was a swirling black-gray color. Someone said that this was prime tornado weather. Great, I thought, one more thing to wrong on this trip. In the end there was no tornado but the air temperature dropped 15 degrees and it rained on us sideways for a few minutes. The wind was so intense that it was lifting the big tents that all of the museum cars were parked under. The people holding ont the tent poles was not enough for some of the car owners and they decided to put the cars out in the rain rather than have the tent fall on them.
