Referendum Election is Nov. 3, 2009
Voting in Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Richmond makes a difference. For example: our 2004 general election
for state rep. was decided by only 30 votes... out of more than 5,000 total! Seth is on the ballot
for reelection in 2010, and we'll also elect a new Governor at that time. This year, 2009, there are several important
referendum questions on the ballot.
Seth urges you to vote NO on the following referendum questions:
TABOR II, which rehashes a failed "spending limit" plan that devastated schools in Colorado, the excise
tax proposal, which will severely cut municipal services including fire and police, and the repeal of Maine's recently
enacted marriage equality laws.
To vote from college,
overseas, or the comfort of your own home, request an Absentee Ballot at the link below. Ballots can be mailed as early
as early October. In addition to saving you a trip, voting from home allows you to take your time, and study
the issues while you are voting.
Election Day is the first Tuesday
of November (Nov. 3, 2009) Polls are open from 8 am - 8 pm at the following locations: Bowdoin Central
School, Bowdoinham Town Hall, and Richmond High School.
