- Q: How many LEDs can I use with the Delux-8?
- A: Normally up to 8 LEDs. You can have as few as one if you like or you can have up to 12 LEDs if you use a
12V power supply and wire the LEDs in series.
- Q: What should I power my kit with? Will batteries work?
- A: You can use batteries or a wall transformer or any source of 6 to 12VDC. Radio Shack wall transformers will work
fine.
- What about instructions?
- The kit comes with a newly revised, three page booklet with large full color pictures of exactly how to hook up the unit.
- What is NOT included?
- Basic tools and supplies commonly available. You'll need a battery holder, batteries, pin vise and set of #80 drill
bits for the fiber optics, an Xacto knife, wire wrap tool (from Radio Shack) and a little super glue.
- What if I hook it up wrong, then what?
- The Delux-8 is protected against reverse input voltage and reversed LEDs. When hooking up the unit, hook up power
first, if the power wires are reversed, its OK. The on-board power light wont light and you wont damage the unit.
Reverse the wires. Once you've got the on-board power light working, start hooking up LEDs. If you hook up an
LED backwards, you wont damage it. Just reverse the wires.
