Just starting to put this site together. Realistically it's my first try, so don't expect a lot of fancy graphics and
music.
Besides, the topics of discussion are going to be quite serious, and distraction is a key element of the enemy's strategy.
I have witnessed a disturbing lack of oversight of the powerful in this country by their bosses, the PEOPLE of this country,
for years. This has been fostered by the powerful, with the complicity of the mass media.
I believe it is the mandatory DUTY of free citizens to knowledgeably consent to be governed.
I believe that the 'knowledgeable' part has been deliberately left out of our consent by a combination of lying and manipulation
of information on the part of the powerful, as well as epidemic lack of concern on the part of the governed.
I believe that the function of the mass media as the "fourth estate" to rein in government has been fundamentally broken
by pressures from the government and the marketplace, and no longer represents the interests of truth or objectivity.
I believe that the ruling party of the USA is similarly dishonest in it's motives and policies.
I believe the electoral system in the US is under graver threat than at any time in it's history, precisely
because of the dishonest motives of those in power, who clearly wish to remain there.
I also believe that the thousands of pages like this one that are popping up all over the internet are a potential antidote
to the carefully fostered ignorance and indifference upon which a budding dictatorship depends for survival.
I respect opinions that are honest, and assertions that can be backed up with hard evidence. I try to hold
myself to this standard as well.
In fact, my next post will contain evidence for the assertions I made above.
I hope to be able to host comments as I get up to speed technically.
