Recipe Analysis

Nutrition analysis of recipes for menu items can be a very useful resource for customers.  Restaurants, cookbooks and websites that provide nutrition information provide "added" value to their customers.   Many customers prefer to maintain healthy diets when eating out or making recipe choices.   Nutrition analysis provides:

1.Valuable information to help customers make informed dietary choices, whether they are watching their weight or controlling certain nutrients in their diet due to a disease or medical condition.

2.Ingredient information for those customers who have food allergies.

3.Detailed information for health conscious customers

Analyses of recipes are completed utilizing professional nutritional analysis software, based on the USDA’s nutrient database.   Completed analyses are reviewed by a Registered Dietitian for accuracy.

Nutrition analysis is also required for food manufacturers to create Nutrition Facts Labels.

Complete confidentiality is maintained with all recipes.

“Heart Healthy” Menu Items

Heart disease is a leading cause of death in America.  Additionally, many of your customers are living with heart disease and monitor their intake of fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol and sodium.  Providing "heart healthy" menu items is one way to show your customers you care about their heart health.  In order to make a health or nutrition claim on your menu, FDA regulations require that you have the nutrition analysis available at your place of business.  If you have any of the following claims on your menu, you must have the proper documentation:  “heart healthy”, “low fat”, “low cholesterol”, “zero trans fat”, “no sugar added”, “high fiber” or any other claim that promotes increased health benefits.

“Diabetic” or "Carbohydrate Controlled" Menu Items

Many of your customers live with diabetes.  Many control their diabetes by monitoring their carbohydrate intake.

The Carbohydrate Count of menu items can be calculated for inclusion on your menu or in your cookbook to assist those customers using diet to manage their diabetes.  Diabetic Food exhanges can also be calculated.
