Always Open
The Open Door Clinic is a free clinic sponsored by the Community Health Services of Addison County, a local non-profit agency dedicated to insuring access to healthcare for all persons, regardless of financial circumstances.
 
Care at the Open Door Clinic is provided by a rotating staff of volunteer healthcare providers, nurses, and community members who generously donate their time because they believe everyone is entitled to healthcare.

Clinic in Middlebury
When: Every Tuesday & Some Thursdays - 6pm-9pm
Where: Vermont Sun building, 812 Exchange St.
How: Call 388-0137 to schedule an appointment

All persons that wish an appointment should call 388-0137 to schedule.
Walk-in appointments are not accepted.

Clinic in Vergennes
When: Every other Thursday - 6pm-9pm
Where: Little City Family Practice, 10 North Street.
How: Call 388-0137 to schedule an appointment

The physicians and staff at the Little City Family practice have generously agreed to provide the Open Door Clinic with space in their office in Vergennes. It has been known for awhile that our presence in Vergennes has been missed and that many Vergennes residents cannot get transportation or could not for other reasons visit the clinic in Middlebury. All persons that wish an appointment should call 388-0137 to schedule. Walk-in appointments are not accepted.

The Open Door Clinic receives generous support from the United Way, Porter Medical Center, the Boye Foundation, Middlebury College, the State of Vermont, local businesses and foundations, and a wonderful corp of community volunteers.

We are a member of the VCCU- Vermont Coalition of Clinics for the Uninsured.
 
Formed in 1995, the goal of the VCCU is to improve access to quality health care in Vermont regardless of ability to pay. The VCCU is a group of nine health care programs which consists of two different health care service models: Free Standing Clinic or Hospital Integrated and referral office.
