M3

M3 is a small globular located in the constellation of Canes Venatici. Though small in appearance the globular contains over a million stars. Mottling can be seen in smaller scopes but it takes an 8" or larger to show good resolved definition. This photo was taken with the 8"scope under fair skies at f6.3 for 12 min on kodak 400!
