to the homepage of TCY Helper, a utility I create to assist in
the more mundane tasks involved in managing a team in
Solecismic Software's Front Office Football - The College
Years, one of the best football simulations in existence.
It is designed as addition to TCY, not a replacement or a
cheat. I will not add anything to the program that
intentionally gets around any of the limitations that
Solecismic's developers (aka Jim Grindin) have included in
their software.
Now, before I
go any further, I should point out that I am a software
Developer, not a web designer.
This site is designed to provide free information about a free
utility that I have written. So, before you criticize my
site, ask yourself one question - would you rather have me
spend time making this nice or making the utility nice.
I work on the site when I get frustrated with the code,
especially with working with TCY's binary file format.
So, just what
is TCY Helper? Well, its a first of its kind utility
that is capable of extracting data directly from TCY save game
files. It organizes that data and is focused
primarily on presenting it in useful, otherwise unavailable
ways. This is where I have a big advantage over Jim.
You see, he has to worry about creating a solid simulation
engine, a solid recruiting engine, a robust player generation
system and a easy to use user interface.
I only have to worry about the UI.
