Patchwork Quilt

The top piece, which I call "Trish's Note" was the first in a series that were modeled after classic patchwork quilts. The wide border and many of the internal pieces are cut from a textured, dichroic glass that even looks like fabric. There are two underlying layers, a sheet of clear glass and one that provides the overall lavender tones.

The second piece is similar, but uses a different tyoe of textured glass on the border, and a different pattern of pieces in the center.

By carefully controlling the kiln firing, I try to achieve a full fuse while retaining the texture of the glass. This piece makes a wonderful centerpiece on a dining room table..

I have reproduced this design with several variations of color and size.

16 inch, 12 inch, 8 inch in various colors and designs
