"The coalescence of form, function, and art."
|
 |
The raw energy required to create much of Steven Hayden's work can be overwhelming.
In a given day he can be at work in the Forge hammering wrought iron elements by hand, at the potter's wheel expertly
throwing delicate clay vessels, and in the wood working studio shaping raw lumber into fine furniture. This energy
and passion for creation comes through in each piece created in his New Hampshire studios.
For over a decade, Steven has pursued novel
ways to combine materials. Ceramic work now complements metal and wood creations.
Copper saturated raku-fired tiles and vessels, home furnishings, and garden sculpture show his
work to be a true "coalescence of form, function,
and art." Today,
Steven's home and studios are found in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
It is here that he hand-crafts all ceramic, metal, and wood elements
one piece at a time. A newspaper article featuring Steven can be read here.
