JOHN GREGORY MARY ANN LOVE My Grandmothers name was Myrtle (Gregory) McGowan. She was born in Marysville, New Brunswick Canada, the daughter of Daniel McIntosh Gregory and Celia Harriet Saunders.
In family stories it is said that Mary Ann Love smoked a corn cob pipe. They also had family in the Calais area. John and Mary Ann both were born in Ireland. I have quite a bit of information on both names and looking for more.
It is unknown when or where John Gregory may have died, or is buried Daniel's mothers name was Mary Ann Love (pictured above, coming from Ireland, most likely Dublin. Mary Ann, was the daughter of James Love, and Frances Donald. James was a Yeoman coming from Ireland. According to the information I have James came to America in 1819 - 1821 on the Ship, Allenlondon. They settled on the Brasier Place in New Brunswick, in St. David's Ridge. It is said at that the Love's are a sept of McAlpine, that the eldest son Erwin (meaning Love). It is also said that MacDuff the eldest of the McAlpine had the privilege of crowning the Scottish Kings. he information I have gathered, although not confirmed says, The Love family is directly descended from the MacKinnon Clan. There was a brother named Robert Love that supposedly settled in Pennsylvania area, maybe Pittsburgh. There seem to be a lot of Love's in that area.
