Stuff about us...

Our Employees (FAMILY) (Pictures to follow...)

Melissa: The "Boss Lady" at MFT. She started this company on a card table at a "Hometown" Festival. Now, we have around 1500 sq. ft. of the coolest stuff you could ever imagine. You may not see her in the store as much anymore, as she is still trying to juggle MFT, three daughters, a needy husband, and keeping her feet wet as a nursing supervisor at our local hospital. Melissa is truly a "Shopaholic", and thus loves to do the many buying trips needed to keep MFT stocked full with more fun and cool stuff. She is also the VOICE of MFT on the local radio (yup, she's the one doing her best Downeast accent on the local ads!).

Nancy "P":  After doing the "traditional" gift shop, Nancy came on board this past summer, and we are having a ball!  She brings to the store some great ideas, and has jumped right in to our craziness.

Kristi:  Keeping MFT looking and running smooth, Kristi has a great eye for detail.  Just love her attention to the customer on picking out a selection, and we love the windows she has been doing.

Meredith: We've moved Mere up from just one of the kids, to a full fledged employee, and it's great.

Carl: The needy husband is also the guy that seems to get the calls when someone has a music question. Carl love’s the addition of musical instruments at the store, and keeps new things coming in all the time. Got a music question? Ask him. He and “Boss Lady” have been married over 20 years. He also want’s everyone to know that they need a vacation very badly! WITHOUT THE KIDS!!!

Other faces you may have seen at MFT:

Linda:  Forever will be thought of as the "Other MFT Lady".  Linda has moved on to explore a new direction, and we miss her dearly.  She and Melissa had some "Excellent Adventures" while at the store or on the road.  She made sure to keep things plugging along.

Erin: Our fourth daughter (no, she just seems that way, since we never hear from her now that she is gone…. Oy vay). Erin was our first employee.  And I guess Melissa taught her well, as she is now one of the top jewelry salespersons at one of the major jewelry stores in Bangor!

Bobbi: Whether helping out at the jewelry counter, or ringing out a sale, Bobbi kept things hopping at MFT.  She has now moved on to other interests.

Anna: Our “pinch hitter”! Comes in to help when we need her, and is just a wonderful person. (She love’s rides on Harleys!).

Nancy "U": An amazing lady with a great attitude.  I love chatting with her about "things".  She has the MFT style down pat!

Janelle: I remember the first time I waited on Janelle as a customer… She really left an impression, and when Melissa hired her, she just fit in right off. She teaches now, but we do get her to come back and help out from time to time.  UPDATE: She is moving to California!!!  Best of luck

Libby:  Libby was our free spirit!  Just a blast to work with and so artistic it was scary!!!  Remember her painted eye lids...  She is now pursuing an art education degree, and having a blast in Southern Maine.

Rochelle: Always in a great mood, Rochelle would bop around in her SCI bucket hat helping out our customers!  She is doing well at UMF now, and stops in when she is in town.

Patty: We used to have a great time when Patty helped out around the store.  Then she and her husband deside to move to Tennesse?!?  Go figure...  She just stopped in a while back, and has the sweetest little southern accent!

Meredith: Has worked here on and off for the past few years while attending school. She's typically a filler around here. Got a music question and Carls not around to ask? Meredith can help you. Shes got a pretty good understanding of the music department and the ordering. When Mere is not at work, she's at the local college (Washington County Community College) working towards her Liberal Studies Degree. She will graduate in may of 2008! (Still with no clue on what she wants to do in life.) Hey...She'll figure it out.

Lindsay, and Abby: The rug-rats, who you see running around the shop, nagging Mom and Dad.  Oh, we love them, but somedays....

No actually Lindsay has started to take an intrest in the store and with Meredith graduating and potentially moving on (we hope *fingers crossed) then we are definatly going to need Lindsays quick thinking and friendly work aroud here.

Our Business Philosophy:
We are NOT some "Big" box store feeding a Wall Street corporate company.  We are just Melissa and Carl Royer, with a little "LOT" of help from our friends!  So, our philosophy is this...  You treat us right, we'll treat you right!  We want to give you the best stuff we can find, and the lowest price we can afford to sell it at.  No Caddies in our driveway!  And no, the customer is not always right, but we will do whatever we can to make you as happy as possible about your purchase from our store.
