THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
Sunday's blog posted Saturday night.
Thank you so very much to everyone who has stopped by.
A big THANK YOU to Mike Lauterborn for mentioning my site on his site. Mike has the most comprehensive sprintcar
news and rumor site in the Northeast. When I log on to the internet in the morning, sprint41.com is usually the first site
I go to. He usually has the ESS, Patriot, URC, or SOS results before that club's site has them. When we run SCONE, as soon
as I get home (2am), I sit down and e-mail Mike with the results and it's posted the next day. I sent him some pictures of
the show over in Plattsburgh in March and he posted a shot of Anthony's car. I always loved the look of his cars with the
woodpecker on them. Thanks, Mike. Keep up the good work.
Bought a scanner today. Things are going to become real interesting now. I have 20 years of photos to sort through.

WELCOME FIRST TIME CALLERS!!
I would like to welcome everyone to my humble little website.
Man, is it growing.
If you are new to the site, here's a quick tour. The homepage will have a new picture everyday with a new blog. If you
miss a day, check out the Picture of the Day Archive to catch up. You should be able to click on any picture to get a larger
image.
There are some photos from Fonda, Malta, and the Plattsburgh car show in 2005 Racing Photos.
At the bottom of the blog are dates. Click on the different dates to get the archives on the blogs.
Today I have added some pictures from Granby in 1997 in the new Pre-2005 photo page.
For regular links, check the right side of the homepage. For racing links, check the bottom of the 2005 Racing Page.
For the regulars who are wondering what the hell is going on, well.....
I have started promoting the site.
Mike Lauterborn(pictured above) has a great website. Sprint41.com.
I e-mailed him and asked him to mention it on his site.
I am a regular contributor to the message board at racinpaper.com.
That is a weekly racing paper(DUH!) out of New Hampshire. I think.
Anyway, if you go there, click on web board. Where ever you see the name "sprintcrew", that's me!!
I want to thank all the visitors of racinpaper.com for checking this place out. Now you know who Sprintcrew is and
now you know who "The Nephew" is.
While I was working on today's update, eight people stopped by between 11:30 and 12:10. Guess I'm not the only night owl
surfing the net.
As always, if you would like to use a picture on your site or something, please give Uncle Mike credit for taking the
picture.
See you at the races.

ERIN CROCKER
I got most of the photos copied from the picture CDs and the Floppys.
If you haven't heard of the name Erin Crocker, you will soon enough. The shot above was taken June of 2002 at the Albany-Saratoga
Speedway on Malta, NY. This was Anthony's first race with the Empire Super Sprints. Parked across the way from us in the pits
was the Woodring Race Team of perennial ESS Champ Mike Woodring and his newly signed teammate, Erin Crocker of Wilbraham,
MA. Erin was an engineering student at RPI. The school was a sponsor.
As we were getting the car unloaded and ready, I noticed Erin was having a photo shoot done. There was a photograher,
extra lights(even though the sun was shining), and reflectors. I grabbed my camera and took a couple of shots.
In the A-main, the #12 of Tim Kelly(right) was leading when his rear end broke on the frontsretch and he bounced off
the wall. Unfortunately, Erin was flying along and had NOWHERE to go. Wreck. No one got hurt. Thus, after the race, neither
cars looked the same as pictured.
Erin won her first ESS race at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, PA in July that year.
In 2003, she became the first woman to qualify for the Knoxville Nationals(the Indy 500 of sprintcar racing).
In 2004, she became the first woman to win a World of Outlaws race.
Last fall she was signed to a developement deal with Ray Evernham Motorsports and this spring started on the pole in
an ARCA race. She led for a while, then while going for the lead, the backend kicked out on her and she spun but did not wreck.
She finished 12th. She is to run some ARCA and Busch races this year.
Local girl makes good and man am I proud of her.
Can say, yeah, I saw her race up this way.

"CHANGES" UPDATE
Still working on copying the photos on the floppys to the picture gallery.
Thanks to Chris Santee for enjoying the site and promoting it on his Franklin One site. See the link below to check it
out.
One of the interactive add-ons I can add to the site is a guestbook.
Do I really need to? I mean, if you want to respond to the site, or something, you can e-mail me. The e-mail address
is at the bottom of the page. I do try to respond.
Enjoy.

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES
I went out this morning and got a few new shots of the village. There will be another one tomorrow morning, too.
Thanks to Henry Raymond for promoting this site. I'm glad he likes the pictures. Thanks to everyone for visiting. I
do notice the counter going up.
Going to be making some changes. The Contact Me page will be done away with. My e-mail address is now at the bottom of
the Homepage.
I have decided to do a new page for each month of Pictures of the Day. That will be easier to figure things out. The
Favorite Links page will be overhauled as well. That will be a Fairfax Photos page. I will have links on the Homepage like
I do now. All racing links will be on the 2005 Racing Page. Most Fairfax Links will be on the Fairfax page.
The "Who is This Guy" page will definitely be given a makeover. It will stay the same, but it will have much more content.
Gotta figure out a new picture of me. Will add Top 10 lists of favorite movies, albums, etc.. I will do movie reviews
for those rare occasions I go to the movies.
I DID IT!!!!!!!!
I was able to transfer the racing photos from the cd-rom to my picture directory. Had to make a temporary file,
then move the photos over, yada yada yada.
I figured it out, anyway. after I do the same with the Floppy disks, I will be getting in touch with some racing websites
to let them know about the racing pictures I have. At that point, I will be featuring a lot of racing photos.
Oh,joy.....
I will stay mindful that there are local folks who like to see the shots of Fairfax, so I won't forget you. I still
need to get up to the Fire Station and get some shots of the trucks.
Plus if we ever get a good view of Mt. Mansfield, I will add that to the collection as well.
Now it's time to say goodnight to Uncle Mike and all his kin.
Thank you folks for kindly doin' the "stop and droppin' in".
You're all invited back tomorrow to this locality
For another healthy heaping of The Picture of the Day.
Man, am I tired......

GOOD NEWS, BAD NEWS
Well, it looks like I'm stuck with the "vze" moniker for the web site. I tried calling Verizon and talked to a woman
in India, I'm guessing. She basically said I would have to delete this site and start over.
Um, no.
I then tried copying this site and renaming it. It would be vze/something.
Um, no.
The good news is, I found some CD-Roms and floppys from Konica from 2002 and 1997. I now trying to figure how to copy
them to my picture directory.
Wish me luck.

NEW STUFF
This site is always under construction as I am adding new things to it.I have some links on the front page. If you want
racing links, check the bottom of the 2005 Racing Photos page.
I need to do some checking around. I know I ordered a couple of CD-Roms of pictures I took when we went to the races
back in the late 90's and in 2002. Oh no, more sprint cars......
Didn't do much Sunday. Actually took a nap in the afternoon. First time in a while.

FULL DAY SATURDAY
Sorry the posting is late....
Oh, the screaming. The carrying on. The yelling at the refs. The anxiety. And finally, the Thrill of Victory.
And that was just our living room.
The day began with a full English breakfast-eggs, fried potatos, bacon, toast, sausage(yummy!), and fried tomatos(um,
no thanks, I'll pass). Follwed by the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Manchester United. Everyone wore red to support Arsenal.
Close game. Manchester United was in control most of the game but couldn't score. After 90 minutes, they played two 15 minute
overtimes. Nothing. It was down to penalty kicks, for the first time in Cup Final history. Arsenal won, 5-4 with the difference
being Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann blocked a kick by United's Paul Scholes.
Bedlam at the Millenium Stadium and here in Fairfax.
Later the conditions were right to get the lawn mowed. Thank God, that's finally done. I was going to have to start haying
soon.
SPOILER-FREE STAR WARS REVIEW
Then, Margie and I went to Essex to see Star Wars. I thought it was great. Even Margie, who hated Ep. 2, felt satisfied
after it was over.
It really wrapped things up and brought finality to the whole series.
Very dark with one particular scene I found to be a little unnerving.
I'm not saying what it was. Go see the movie for yourself.
We then came home and watched the Original Star Wars on DVD.
Simply amazing. You now look at Darth Vader in a different light.
There are scenes and reactions on people's faces that make it look like A New Hope was made after Revenge of
the Sith.
Saw previews for Batman Begins(must see) and Fantastic Four( I think I'd like to see it).
Then this morning I watched the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco. Kimi Raikkonen in a McLaren-Mercedes dominated the whole race.
Nick Heidfeld and Mark Webber were 2nd and 3rd in Williams-BMWs(the team I root for).
Missed the NEXTEL All-Star Race. Paper said Mark Martin won. Good.
Next Sunday- the European Grand Prix at the Nurburring, followed by the Indy 500, followed by the Coca-Cola 600.
Zoom Zoom.
