MARCH MADNESS UPDATE
It's late, so I'm just going to give an update on my March Madness predictions.
Stick a fork in me, I'm done.
I picked Duke to win it all-LOST
I picked Gonzaga to be in the Final Four-CHOKED
I picked Ohio St. to be in the Final Four-LOST-2nd round
UConn won in overtime Friday night. I need them to make the championship game to get a decent finish.

15 MINUTES OF FAME
With technology the way it is today, more people are getting their 15 minutes of fame. Digital cameras and high-end
computers are allowing people to produce short films at home with a lot less equipment than what was needed to process a film
before.
On ifilm.com, there are a slew of fan films that some people do that look like a real movie trailer. Others take a film
or TV spot and rearrainge it to do a spoof on it. One person took "A Charlie Brown's Christmas" and edited it to the song
"Hey Ya" by Outkast. It was quite good. Another took it and overdubbed it with hip-hop dialogue that made Charlie Brown look
like a pimp. If you could put up with all the swearing, there WAS some really funny moments.
The internet is full of "America's Funniest Home Videos". There are stupid people doing stupid things, ala "Jackass".
Webcams allow us to become voyeurs, as people turn on a camera and then go about their lives as we watch.
And through all of wannabes passing by, once in a while, there will be something that catches your eye. It then catches
everyone else's eye, and the 15 minutes of fame begins.
While checking a humor video site, I stummbled across something. It was quite cute. Just recently I went back to check
it out again, and it's beginning to explode.
Take two 15-year-old girls from the Netherlands, add one digital video camera, turn on some music, and let the insanity
begin.
Meet Pomme and Kelly. Sitting in one's dining room, they lip-synced to Britney Spears' song "Toxic". Pretty funny stuff.
Come to find out, they have their own website and are in the semi-finals in the lip-sync catagory at
www.googleidol.com doing Aretha Franklin's "Respect". Again, very well done. They are now appearing on TV in the Netherlands. This all
started three months ago.
Click on the song you want, then click on the picture that comes up, and it will take you to Google video, where the
video will start playing.
It's a riot to watch them. One will be going nuts to the song, while the other sits, straight-faced(or trying to) until
her cue comes up to go nuts as well.
Fer chrissakes, don't read into this the wrong way. I am not interested in 15-year-old girls. At first, I thought they
were in their 20's, and from England. I just found the whole notion very funny.
And when you think about it, a bit scary. 15-year-olds with their own websites doing silly things. Would you do what
they are doing, when you were 15? If you could?

A STATE OF GARBLE
This will be a sort of "Coming Soon" blog. it may sound a bit garbled. After all, it is quarter to one in the morning.
In the next couple of days I'm going to touch on a couple of technology things like cell phones, and the open window into
people's lives by way of internet webcams.
One of the things I touch on when I am hosting the museum for some classes from BFA-Fairfax, is the leaps and bounds
that technology has taken in the last 20 years. There is no telling what sort of techno-stuff a current 3rd grader will be
using as a senior in high school ten years from how. In a couple of days, I will talk about the advances of cell phones and
what exactly do you want it to do for you and more importantly, how much are you willing to spend.
Tomorow I will talk about webcams and digital cameras and the window some people are opening into their lives. I'll introduce
you to two girls who are making their mark on the internet......and no nudity is involved. It actually quite funny stuff.

FAIRFAX'S CHANGING LANDSCAPE
Take a good look at today's Picture of the Day. It will never look like that again. I took it late 1980's. There are
houses on that hill now. This hill is across from Swanson's Nursery.
Houses going up everywhere. And now, 104A will look alot different. Blakes have sold their cows. And there's a lot of
open land right there.
With all the houses going up, where are the people coming from? Where do they work? Will they be a part of the Fairfax
Community, or just eat and sleep here and go to work in......?(Name a surrounding town.)
Amazing. Start in Burlington. Come to Fairfax. You feel like your out in the sticks. Now go up to Waterville, Belvedere,
or Eden. You're really out in the sticks. Come back to Fairfax. You feel like you're in the city. Especially nowadays.
More and more people. And you STILL can't buy a USA Today in town. You can in Cambridge. Georgia, too. But we're not
on a main artery coming out of Burlington. But, that's another rant.........

FCTC MOVIE NIGHT
The Fairfax Community Theatre Company is holding a Movie Night, this coming weekend, Friday March 24, and Saturday March
25, at the Westford Brick Meeting House. Showtime is 8pm. Admission is 5 bucks for Adults, 4 dollars for Seniors and Students.
The evening's entertainment are original short films by, or featuring, FCTC members. Kevin Christopher has one called
"The Goalie's Anxiety at the Urinal". This has been featured on ifilm.com. It is about a guy who has drank a lot of liquid,
and then has to use the restroom at the movie theater. Unfortunately, he has anxiety problems when other people are in
the restroom. And everyone keeps coming in.
There are about 2 hours worth of short films. Although there is no offensive language or nudity, the night is not recommended
for children under 13. A poster is featured at
www.fctcvt.org. Refreshments will be sold.
I'll be going Saturday night.
Made a mistake about my March madness record. I was 29-11. Sure enough, upsets have started. Ohio State, whom I had pegged
for the Final Four, is out. North Carolina lost. Pittsburgh lost. I'm now 34-14. As long as.........I better not say anything,
I'll jinx myself.
I'm watching Doctor Who again on the Sci-Fi Channel.
"I'm the Doctor, by the way. What's your name?"
"Rose."
"Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life!"
