SHOW FINALE TONIGHT
Again a small, but very reactionary audience Friday night for "Witness.....". There were quite a few laughs from the
audience at the funny stuff.
Tonight's the final night. I really hope you get a chance top see this play.
I really haven't had time to do much else, so the blogs have been short.
Sorry.
At least I'm not giving rainfall amounts.

COURTROOM DRAMA
Night two of Witness for the Prosecution was a success. Again a small but very appreciative audience. From the sounds
of it, everyone is going Friday and Saturday nights.
Many thanks to show producer Helen Soule for letting me use some pictures she took at dress rehearsal for today's pictures.
One thing to remember- in England, trial lawyers, or barristers, always wore wigs in court. I believe some still do.
The play is set in the late 1940's. If you are into the TV show, Law and Order, you will like this play.
Lots of great performances. Normally when one thinks of community theatre, one might consider it a step up from high
school performances. Not this theatre company. A lot of what they put on is on par with some of the stuff you would go to
Burlington or Montpelier to see. And the talent the FCTC has been able to draw. Not just people from Fairfax, but all over.
And once they do one show, they come back to be in another one.

OPENING NIGHT
Posted for Thursday July 7th........
A small but very appreciative crowd on hand for opening night for FCTC's "Witness for the Prosecution". Everyone really
enjoyed it.
I put up ten pictures of the fireworks on Henry Raymond's Photo Gallery. Not the greatest, kinda blurry.
France vs. Italy for the World Cup. I am not predicting a winner, so I won't jinx anybody.
However, I am picking Dale Earnhardt, Jr. to win at Chicago this Sunday.

FIRST FIREWORKS, THEN A PLAY.......
Long day.
Got the place ready for the Fourth of July, then went over to dress rehearsal for "Witness", then came home and watched
a storm blow just south of us. We got the outskirts of the thing. We ended up getting hail, though. The worst went south
and east of us. Then it was grillin' time as I manned the BBQ for our annual party.
Then it was up to the station to get ready to stand by for fireworks. This year we were stationed down in the back parking
lot at school.
I took some pictures from the top of the road that goes down to the senior citizen housing. The light in the bottom of
the picture is near the little garbage area on the corner.
Took a bunch of pictures. problem is, I was far away and a lot came out blurry. I will put some up on Henry's Photo Gallery
Wednesday. Try to, anyway.
Wednesday is Opening Night for "Witness for the Prosecution". Watched most of dress rehearsal Tuesday. Great job. Good
performances all around.
Doors open around 7pm with the show starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults,
$7 for seniors and children under 12. The play runs through Saturday night.

INDEPENDENCE DAY
Fourth of July! I believe there is a parade in Westford at 11am. There is usually a parade in Jeffersonville earlier.
Big doings at the school starting at 3pm and Fireworks starting probably around 9:30pm. Maybe earlier. Depends on if it's
cloudy or clear.
Just hope the weather's halfway decent.
Happy Fourth everyone!! Remember to put your flag out.

HISTORY IS STILL FUN
Posted for Monday July 3rd..............
As President of the Fairfax Historical Society, I am amazed that I am still finding things at the museum that I didn't
realize were there.
Take today's picture. It's been in the case on the wall at the museum FOREVER. I was looking at things the other day
when I realized what the picture was.
In the old BFA catalogs, there is talk about the Athletic Association. Back then, it was a kind of "pay to play" deal.
Anyone could join, but you had to join to play sports.
There were four sports at BFA- baseball, football, track and field, and tennis. In an old scapbook at the museum, I found
where the '06 team lost to Brigham Academy and Bakersfield. Both were shutouts.
So now in 2006, we are having a Varsity Football team for the first time in the school's history.
Wrong.
We've had it before. A long time ago.
I'm thinking today's players have more padding than these guys did. Looks like they've got some funky shin guards.
I just wish I could find records of rosters and scores, even for track, and tennis.
Click on the picture for a full screen shot.
Had three people stop in at the museum on Sunday. One person brought in three envelopes, two with a Buck
Hollow cancellation stamp on it. One other envelope has a Fairfax stamp with the date of 1887.
I did some work around the place laying stuff out and sorting through some stuff.
I finally got the sign planted in front of the museum.
Thank you very much to Dave McGown for mowing the lawn today.

IT'S STILL COMING DOWN
Supposedly Saturday was to be nice until later. Checking out the radar maps, there was nothing in the northeast except
these cells which went through the area.
Friday afternoon, Mother Nature finally lost her mind. It was raining and the sun was out. She didn't know what to do,
so she did both.
Tony Stewart won the Pepsi 400 again.
England lost in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. More surprising was Brazil lost to France.
U.S. Grand Prix at Indy. I may tape it.
I will be at the museum from 1-4. If you're in the area, stop in.
