MORE ODDS 'N' ENDS
I made a few phone calls to see if anyone was interested in going to the Franklin County documentary. I'm sure they got a good crowd.

I was reading about the guy from Highgate that won the Megabucks. Seems like a really decent guy. The kind everyone will be glad to see win it.

Varsity girls got their first win of the season Friday night at Colchester.

Next week is the Season Two series finale of Doctor Who.
Friday night's episode was fun.

I must be getting old. As Christmas approaches, I think more about the presents I am buying and how people will react to them and hope they like them, than I do about the present I might get. Well, until it's time to start opening presents.
Must be a sign of maturity.

Jeez, I hope not. That would suck.

"LIFE IN FRANKLIN COUNTY"
Crap.
I meant to be promoting this all week, and make a bunch of phone calls, but I didn't.
The 40 minute documentary, "Life in Franklin County" will be shown Friday night at the St. Albans Historical Museum on Church Street just above Taylor Park. It starts at 7pm and admission is free.
I have to work and cannot make it.
Doug Webb will be featured in it and I hope someone from Fairfax goes out.
We will be receiving a copy of it and we will have our own showing in 2007. ("We" being the Fairfax Historical Society.)
The DVD that we will receive will have the complete interviews of all persons featured.
I will make a few phone calls Friday to see if anyone is interested in going.

BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS
Wow.
Margie put the tree up Wednesday night. Walking in after work, it looks great. Normally, I have to put the lights on the tree(she says I do a better job), but she did great this year.
Really need to start thinking about Christmas. It's a week from this coming Monday.
Two and a half weeks before 2007.
Yeesh.

Back to the Burlington Bike Path.
Where the spray from the water came up onto the path, it became black ice. I was walking along a ways before it when I guy on a bike passed me. He came to a screeching halt when he came to the ice. He continued on, very gingerly. I did like-wise as I was walking across it.
In today's picture, you can see the bike way ahead.

BURLINGTON PICTURES
Today's picture is a small beach inbetween Blodgetts' and the sewer plant along the bike path.
It's usually my first stop after I get on the bike path at Blodgetts. There's a fence that runs along between the path and the railroad tracks.
Last Tuesday, the 5th, was one of those rare occurances where the water was very calm. No waves. There were small waves over by Perkins Pier, but none here. It's neat when there IS waves because I will sit/stand and watch them roll in. Then I try to guess which ones will really come up on shore. Some waves break early, while others break late and the water really pushes up on shore.
If you can get into a zone watching them, it can be very relaxing and peaceful. I used to go up to Fairfax Falls, go out onto a cement slab and watch the water coming over the Falls. Same effect.

PICTURES GALORE
Today's picture of the Methodist Church was taken Thanksgiving morning. I went out and about and snapped a couple of pictures here and there.

I've been out with the camera and have started taking pictures of Christmas decorations around the village. Those will start being posted this coming weekend.

Took some interesting shots down to Burlington on my birthday last week. Those will start Wednesday.

I need to look through all the Pictures of the Day to see which ones will be on my Keepers Page when I do the 2006 Scrapbook around the first of the year.
Take a gander, and tell me your favorites.

A COUPLE OF ODDS 'N' ENDS
Posted for Monday December 11th..............

Going to bed at a decent hour, for a change.

Great concert Sunday at school. Everyone had a great time. Santa Claus is a real bit hit. I had been listening to the chorus rehearse for the past few weeks, and they were sounding great every Monday night.
Henry Raymond was there and took a bunch of pictures. Check out the slide show:

Today's picture was taken back mid-November, when I went out for a walk up Main Street.

Someone made a funny with Tom Curley, owner of Thunder Road.

STUFF UPDATED
I put up a 20-picture slideshow of Jim Field's retirement party on Henry Raymond's site.
Check it out:

The three pictures of Fairfax Falls have been added to the Fairfax Falls page. That completes that page.

I still have pictures from when I went to Burlington last week to put up.

Fairfax Community Christmas Concert Sunday at 2pm at the school.

I did some Christmas shopping Saturday. University Mall was very crowded.
