BRACE YOURSELVES
Posted for Sunday April 15th........................
Here we go.
According to Channel 5's map, we are on the line between 6-16 inches and 10-20+ inches. The Weather Channel's map has
1-3 inches by Sunday night.
As always, we will wait and see. The Official Measuring stick is all set to go.
I still have a lot of pictures left from Plattsburgh. They will be sprinkled about through this next week, along with
pictures of the snow.
Texas tomorrow. I'm going with a Roush car. Matt Kenseth.

CUE THE SHARK MUSIC
Posted for Saturday April 14th.............................
Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dooo-ooooooo.......
Dum dum dum dum dum dum.............
"We're gonna need a bigger boat."
We're going to need something, alright.
The spring sports teams may NEVER get onto their fields this year.
I checked the 10-day forecast, and if we can make it through to Wednesday, the sun will come back out and stay for awhile,
with the temps in the 40's.
The big day is NEXT Saturday. Mostly sunny, high of 49 degrees. Hopefully, please keep your fingers crossed, we're supposed
to be racing down to Fonda, NY. I checked the 10-day for down there, and it's calling for the same thing.
First, we have to live through Sunday and Monday.
Sigh.

NON DEBATER....WELL, MAYBE THIS TIME
Posted for Friday April 13th..........
FRIDAY THE 13TH?!?!.....AAAAUUUUUGH!!!!!!!..........
A good day to stay in bed.........
I usually do not get involved in heated arguments because a lot of the time I do not know the full story, or I am not
confident in my convictions.
Such is the case involving Don Imus.
Yes, what he said was NOT the thing to say, but if you step back and look at the rest of the world, what's the big deal?
Cal Thomas echoed my thoughts that black rap artists say much worse things about black women in their songs. Nothing
is said. Nobody has a beef with them about it.
Imus apologized. He appeared on Al Sharpton's radio show. He agreed to meet with the players on the team.
Not good enough, I guess.
So, Thursday CBS Radio pulls the plug on Don Imus.
Big deal. Can you say "Satellite Radio"? XM or Sirius? He's going to end up somewhere. People will still listen to him.
And you have to admit that the guys who make "South Park" are already drafting scripts for an episode involving
what Imus said. And when it airs, fans of the show will howl with laughter and no one will raise a stink about it.
There will be black comediens that will also incorporate what was said into their routines. And the audiences, mostly
black, will howl with laughter. No one will complain.
If we hold him accountable, we need to hold everyone accountable.
He said the wrong thing. He apologized. He was trying to make amends. And still he walked the plank.
And will probably board a satellite.
"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong." -Dennis Miller

KILL PHIL, VOL. 2
Posted for Thursday April 12th..........................
Thanks to everyone who checked out my blog Wednesday, and laughed. Sometimes I wonder if we all still have a sense of
humor, anymore.
The answers!!
The song on the radio at 6am every morning was I Got You, Babe by Sonny and Cher.
The song being played at the festivities was the Pennsylvania Polka.
Ned Ryerson was the former classmate and insurance salesman.
The little piece of driving advice?
"Don't drive angry. Don't drive angry."
And finally, I stole Uma Thurman's monologue as The Bride in Quentin Tarentino's "Kill Bill".
Nice to know no one took me seriously. I didn't want the Pennsylvania State Police to be calling me up. Or that maybe
I hurt Phil's feelings.
I guess the fallout from the Don Imus thing continues. I heard a rumor that Santa Claus can no longer say, "Ho Ho Ho",
anymore.
Wonder how much snow we will get?

KILL PHIL
Posted for Wednesday April 11th......................
He lied.
We all wanted to believe him but he lied.
He came out of his little hut back on February 2nd, and didn't see his shadow. So he told us spring was around the corner.
We believed him. We dealt with the below zero temperatures, because he said winter was going to end soon.
He lied.
Valentine's Day Blizzard.
More below zero nights.
St. Patrick's Day snowstorm.
Easter Sunday.
Spring wasn't around the corner.
Winter hung around. Yes, we had warm temperatures. Yes, the snow melted.
But winter was hiding in the corner. It hasn't gone away.
It's still here.
Winter storm watch for Thursday. Six inches of snow possible.
He lied.
It's time to get even.
It's time for revenge.
We're going on a road trip.
We're going to Pennsylvania.
We're going to Punxsutawney.
And we're going...............
To Kill.
Phil.
Okay, so maybe that's a little drastic, but Good Golly Miss Molly.........
Dad always said that it never really warms up until all the snow melts off Mt. Mansfield. At this rate, it won't get
warm until August.
Watched part of the movie "Groundhog Day" back on Easter Sunday.
Weatherman Phil Conners keeps reliving February 2nd. No matter what he does.

SURGERY UPDATE
Posted for Tuesday April 10th.........................
May 3rd is when I am scheduled to have surgery on my knee. I was kinda hoping for sooner, but I will manage until then.
I just need to take it easy now and then.
I want to thank everyone for asking how I'm doing and checking on me. It means a lot.
I figure if surgery is on Thursday, I will be laid up until the following Wednesday, and may try to go back to work then.
I mentioned that to my boss, who said, "Want to wager on that?". He's had knee operations before and he was laid up a while.
I told him I didn't want to wager, because I would force myself to go back to work to win the bet.
I figure it can't hurt any worse than it does right now.
Like I said, I need to stop and just relax once in a while. Maybe even twice.

IT'S LOOKS A LOT MORE LIKE CHRISTMAS...........
Posted for Monday April 9th......................
We had nicer weather on Christmas.
Easter Sunday was the epitome of Vermont weather- "If you don't like it, wait a minute, it will change."
Sunny, then cloud up, then snow flurry, then clear up, then the sun came out, then clouded up, ad nauseum.
I even had to go out and shovel the driveway early evening.
Last Wednesday, when we were headed out to an accident call in North Fairfax, we were traveling through Brush Woods.
The snow was hanging on the tree limbs and branches. I thought, gee, maybe I should put the Christmas lights back up. Guess
I should have.
Great meal up to Carl and Diana's. Margie makes this great dessert. Layer of chocolate cake, then a layer of chocolate
pudding, then cherry pie filling, then whipped cream. Then repeat. Think it's called a trifle. Good stuff.
