LONG DAY AT DAYTONA
Posted for Sunday July 8th...........................
Six inches.
Maybe eight.
That's how much Jamie McMurray beat Kyle Busch to win the Pepsi 400 at Daytona Saturday night. Kyle Busch had already
won the Busch Series race Saturday morning. That race got rained out Friday night. So they ran the Busch race at 9am Saturday
morning.
Good race. TNT showed commercials but still showed the race at the same time. It was good, just wish they had less dumb
commercials.
You had to see a few of them for yourself to understand.
I will be at the museum from 2-4 Sunday afternoon. Stop in!!
Dad would have turned 80 Sunday.

A COUPLE OF ITEMS
Posted for Saturday July 7th.................................
I have finally posted six pictures from the storm that came through town back on June 21st. The one where the sunset
mixed with the clouds. I also posted seven pictures of the fireworks. Both are on Henry Raymond's photo gallery.
I will be at the museum again this Sunday from 2-4pm. If you are interested in hosting a Sunday at the museum, please
let me know.
Doctor Who was great on the "bigger" screen. If you saw it you'll laugh at the following quotes:
"Santa's a robot!"
"Pockets!!"
"I'm not from Mars!"
"Judoon platoon upon the moon."

THE DOCTOR IS IN
Posted for Friday July 6th..............................
Doctor Who, Series Three, comes to the Sci-Fi Channel tonight at 8pm with back to back episodes. First up, the Christmas
special, "The Runaway Bride". Then, the season opener, "Smith and Jones".
If you are in the mood for something different, this is it. And the great thing is, it is a family show, so all ages
can watch.
It's nice to get the series so soon after it was released in Britain. Usually we have to wait a few months. But the series
just wrapped up last week.
I usually check the Doctor Who website and watch all the next week previews and such. The first two seasons I got an
idea of what was going on, but had to wait until they showed it here, before I knew the full story. This year I did the same
thing, but with a twist. I seached YouTube and ended up watching most of the season online.
OK, I did a bad thing. It's like illegally downloading music, and such.
But based on what I saw, and without giving up any secrets, Series Three is the best yet.
If you never have seen the show, this is a good jumping in point. There is a new companion, and he has to explain things
to her, so you get an idea of what the Doctor is all about.
Seriously, this is a good show. If you aren't doing anything Friday night, give it a try.

BA-DA-BOOM-BA!!
Posted for Thursday July 5th.........................
And just like that, the 4th of July is over. Margie had her annual BFB-Barbeque, Fireworks, Bonfire. The weather was
great this morning as we were getting the place ready. Then the clouds rolled in. People arrived while it was drizzling. I
BBQ'ed a bunch of food, ranging from hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, veggie burgers. Then for me, it was up to the fire station
to get ready for fireworks. Four of us were stationed down by the school with Engine 1.
Great job with the fireworks, guys!!!
By the time I got back to the house, everyone had gone home-people have to work Thursday. I don't. Needless to say, there
was no bonfire.
And now, at almost midnight, it's raining the hardest it had all day.
Guess we lucked out after all.

FAIRFAX COMMUNITY THEATRE ON THE WEB
Posted for Independence Day, July 4th..................................
Kevin Christopher has made a Public Service Announcement(PSA), for the Fairfax Community Theatre Company's production
of "Cotton Patch Gospel".
It is really great to watch.
It is being sent to all the Public Access channels in the state.
Today's picture was taken down at Utica-Rome. We always fly both flags at the races.
Let's hope they are wrong about Wednesday's forecast.

VERMONT WEATHER
Posted for Tuesday July 3rd.............................
Typical weird Vermont weather. Beautiful day all day. Then 5:30 rolls around and the sky darkens. Thunderstorm rolls
through. Looks like the brunt of it hit east of the village.
I walk outside later on. Blue sky. 9:30pm, sky darkens, and FLASH!!
Another storm rolls through.
You just never know.
Today's picture of Anthony and Justin Barger was cropped from the original. Still came out good. Same with Jeff Cook's
picture.
It looks like all the classrooms in the elementary building will be cleaned by the Fourth of July. We are really
motoring along. Feels good.

WATCH ANTHONY RACE
Posted for Monday July 2nd....................................
MRE Productions tapes all the Empire Super Sprints races. All the 2007 races are available at their site:
I watched the Drummondville race Sunday night. They really got a good shot of Russ Bennett crashing, then everyone piling
into him.
Under "Online Videos", check "Race Videos", then under the pop-up list, choose ESS 2007 Footage and Drummond 6/16/07.
Anthony also raced Granby 6/15/07 and Utica-Rome 5/27/07.
ESS was back at Utica-Rome Sunday night. They have live audio on their website. I listened to the race. Steve Poirier
in the 28FM led the whole way, then got passed by Chuck Hebing on the last lap.
