FIRESTATION OPEN HOUSE
Posted for Saturday October 13th.........................
Open House at the firestation Saturday from 10am-12pm. I will be there and will try to take some pictures.
The presentations at the museum Friday went well.
Today's picture was taken mid-week.
Don't forget FCTC's "Greater Tuna" over in Westford Saturday night at 7:30pm and a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2pm.
Red Sox won game 1 of the ALCS, 10-3. The Boston Bruins are playing the Los Angeles Kings out on the coast. The Bruins
were up 4-1, but now it's 4-3 and the second period just ended. Hope the Bruins can hang on.

DUDE, VISITORS!!!
Posted for Friday October 12th..........................
I have a doormat in my room that's the kids from South Park all lined up with horrified looks on their faces. The caption
reads, "Dude, Visitors!". The very first episode had aliens landing and Cartman getting probed. It was really funny....if
you like that sort of thing.
Anyway, I will be opening the Museum Friday for some visitors. Specifically, a couple of classes from school will be
coming up for a tour and presentation by yours truly. It's always fun and I enjoy doing it. I just hope they leave with something
that they will always remember.
Not sure I blogged this, but in 5th and 6th grades, I had Ruth Ellsworth for a teacher. She did history and math, I think.
Fern Jones did Reading and English. The other one(Mr. Davis, Mrs. Bristol, Mr. Sinnott-take your pick), did science and something
else.
Anyway, in all the time that I had Ruth, the only things I remember learning from her that really stuck were:
A. The 1939 soccer team that won the state championship. I remember her showing us a picture of the team. Art and Doug
Webb were on the team.
B. She told us about the night the original BFA burned. She was there and witnessed all the commotion. She even told
how kids were crying. Some of the kids in my class couldn't believe that part.
I told her that once and she was so impressed that I remembered.
I remember one time she asked me if I collected anything. I told her baseball cards and comic books.
'You know what I collect?", she asked and then answered her own question with, "I collect friends and memories."
Ruth had quite a collection. Better than mine.

GREATER TUNA
Posted for Thursday October 11th...............................
Just a reminder that the Fairfax Community Theatre Company is presenting "Greater Tuna", starting Thursday night and
running through Sunday afternoon, at the Westford Brick Meeting House.
The show starts at 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday, with a Sunday afternoon matinee at 2pm.
I will be attending the Saturday evening performance.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children under 12.
The show is a comedy, set in a small town in Texas, and stars Pete Harrington and Kevin Christopher, who do all
the characters in the play. On stage as one person, go off, change clothes, come back on as someone else.
My sister, Margie, is the stage manager and Bob Martin is the director.
Go to:
http://www.fctcvt.org and watch a public service announcement about the play. You can also check out photos from the play.

REAPER
Posted for Wednesday October 10th...........................
I actually heard a peeper coming home from work Tuesday night.
I watch four TV shows regularly, Doctor Who(Ok, the season just ended, so it's three shows), Torchwood, Supernatural,
and Reaper. Reaper is on Tuesday nights at midnight. Actually, it's on at 9pm in Los Angeles on KTLA, which I get on the dish.
Pretty good. A couple sells their son's soul to the devil........
Ummmmmmmmm......................Let's start from the beginning.
Once upon a time there was a young couple. The man was very sick, so he made a deal with the devil to be healthy. In
return, the devil gets their firstborn's soul. The couple vows not to have children. The doctor who the wife gets her birth
control pills from has gambling debts. The devil pays off the debts in return for the doctor giving the wife false pills.
The result? A baby boy.
The baby boy is now 21 and working in a Home Depot type store. The Devil comes calling. You can have your soul for
now, but I want you to be my bounty hunter to retrieve souls that have escaped Hell.
A slacker with slacker friends who try to become Ghostbusters.
Kinda need to see it to appreciate it.
I'm trying to find a picture from Torchwood to download, and I will do a write-up on that. THAT'S a good show.

THAT'S A LOTTA GEESE
Posted for Tuesday October 9th..............................
I tried counting the geese by using the curser on the computer and think I got around 160 geese in this flock.
Good thing it wasn't sheep, or I would have fallen asleep on the keyboard. That was
a witty one, hardy har har har har.
It was impressive to see the flock and it makes a great shot with the cloud as a backdrop.
I remember one grey, overcast, chilly October day working in the lumber yard up at Spartan Industries, we counted flocks
of geese and the final tally was around 55 on the day.
What's really beautiful is to see the snow geese fly overhead.
Cleveland vs. Red Sox in ALCS.
Colorado vs. Arizona in NLCS.
I saw the end of the Yankees game then the end of the wild Dallas/Buffalo game on Monday Night Football.
I prefer last week's weather to this week's. I really enjoyed the warm air and the sunshine.

DAYS REVERSED
Posted for Monday October 8th.................
Columbus Day!
No mail delivery! Post office is closed!!
The type in bold is a reminder for me, so I don't walk up to the post office for nothing.
I thought Saturday was supposed to be the nice day and rain on Sunday. Wrong! Sunday was a really nice day. Could have
been warmer, but the sun was out.
Took a bunch of pictures, well........a small bunch. I went over to the baseball game over at school. Got some nice shots
of the action. Huge flock of geese flew over, got that, too.
A couple of people stopped in to the museum.
About 20 people were at the Chris Murphy presentation Sunday night. Nice to see a local kid do good and really amount
to something. Not to say that I didn't think Chris would do well in life, but what he is doing is amazing and very different
from anyone else. Smart guy. Very smart.
