HAPPY ENDING
Posted for Sunday October 21st............................
Man, am I tired.
Very relieved, but tired.
We were returning from an accident call Friday night around 9pm, when a group of us were chosen to go up to Carroll Hill
Road for a missing person.
Rather disheartening to see it was someone I knew. But, remember, this is a small town. And also remember, that's
why we're there. Someone was in trouble and we are there to help.
And it had become a nasty night.
We walked down the road with flashlights and went door to door, asking if they had seen the person.
Came home after 11pm for a change of clothes and went back up.
Came home around 2:30am with the knowledge that we would be back there by 6.
As the sun was coming up, we headed back out, going back door to door, and doing a more thorough search of the area.
Plans were being drwn up for more searching when the good news arrived. A couple of hunters found him, alive and walking.
WCAX was there and got all the video of the homecoming. I'm sure they will have video of it posted soon.
Talk about the cavalry showing up. I don't think I could list all the different groups that were there. A true team effort.
Great job by everyone.
A very happy ending.

LONG NIGHT
Very long night. Going to be a short one as well. Looking at 2 and 1/2 hours sleep before we're back at it.
More Sunday.
Lots of leaves in the roads from all the rain.

FINGERS CROSSED
Posted for Friday October 19th.............................
Red Sox are currently leading, 2-1, at the end of the sixth.
After I finish this, I am turning off the TV and going to bed. I was doing something else and missed the homerun for
the Sox first run. I was watching Supernatural when they got the second run. When I switched over, the bases were loaded,
but I saw the final out.
If I don't watch the game, maybe they will win.
Supertitious fee-lin', running all around my he-ad.........

TEACHERS CONVENTION
Posted for Thursday October 18th............................
No school the rest of the week. Teachers Convention is here. Means we can do some stuff around the school without the
kids there.
I will be on days, so I will be posting early.
We had a fire call up past Metcalf Pond in Fletcher on Monday. I should have taken my camera to get some shots of the
foliage. But I was concentrating on the call we had.
If anyone remembers back before 1973, and the road down behind the school, those two tall pine trees are the ones that
have been there all along. If memory serves me correctly, the baseball backstop was right near the trees, but facing the school.
What is now the thirdbase line, used to be the firstbase line. I need to look in some old yearbooks.

PARTY'S OVER
Maybe they can come back.
They did against the Yankees three years ago.
This time I'm not so sure.
The Red Sox are down 3-1 to Cleveland.
Saturday night's extra inning collapse felt weird, like 1986 all over again.
I don't know.
I think it's over.
Maybe Josh Beckett can pull out a win Wednesday night. But then, there's still two games after that.
One game at a time.
Don't get your hopes up too high.
Cuz I think in the end.............the Colorado Rockies are going to win the World Series.

MORE FIRE AND SAFETY DAY PICTURES
Posted for Tuesday October 16th.............................
As you can see in today's picture, Henry Raymond was at the Open House Saturday taking pictures. I want to apologize
to Henry because I keep forgetting to put a link up to his slideshow of the pictures he took. Here is a link to some pictures
on the forum. Scroll down to the end of the photos for a link to his slideshow:
There's quite a few of me as I'm explaining what Jordan and Marc are doing.
I'll be returning to autumn and foliage pictures tomorrow.

FIRE AND SAFETY DAY
Posted for Monday October 15th......................
Halfway through October ALREADY???????
Saturday morning was a lot of fun at the Open House at the firestation. Lots of kids and parents looking at the firetrucks
and ambulance.
Jordan Hayes and Marc Bessette put on their gear as I described to the crowd what they were doing.
At one point, I spotted Kyle Williams and asked her to come over. I then told all the little girls how Kyle was a firefighter
and that they, too, can become firefighters when they grow up.
The sun was out, but it was chilly. A good morning all around.
This was definitely peak weekend, although there are still some green leaves out there. Some of the trees are half peak
foliage color, and half green.
The museum is now semi-closed for the season. We are still open by appointment, as long as the weather is not freezing.

LOOOOONNNGG DAY
Got up.
Went to Foothills Bakery and got breakfast.
Went up to the firestation for the Fire and Safety Open House.
Came home, and helped get the house ready for a cast party.
Went over to Westford to see "Greater Tuna".
Oh.
My.
God.
Was that funny! Seriously, if you aren't doing anything Sunday afternoon, go see it. 2pm at the Brick Meeting House.
Came home and helped host the cast party.
After the party broke up, switched back and forth between the NASCAR race and the Sox game.
Saw the end of the race. Jeff Gordon won. Blech.
And now, it's crawling on toward 1:30am and the Sox are folding in the top of the 11th. 10-6, Cleveland. At this point,
I think I'll go to bed before the bottom of the 11th.
Oh yeah. Party's over. 3-run homer. 13-6, Cleveland.
I will be at the museum Sunday from 2-4.
