Bucksport Area Cultural Arts Society
Special Meeting Minutes January 10, 2006
The special meeting of the Bucksport Area Cultural Arts Society was called to order
by President George Hanson at 6:35 p.m. Also in attendance were Cindy Lozier, Mark Neslusan, Joe Kennedy and Lisa Whitney.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: There were two typographical errors corrected in the November minutes. The
extra t in Secretary needed to be dropped in the subject line and the "wee" in the technology report should have been a "were."
On motion by Cindy, seconded by Mark, with all in favor, the corrected minutes were accepted.
The group then focused on the primary reason for the meeting, which was to review
any applications that had been received for the positions in the upcoming musical. The following actions took place:
1. It was noted that there had been no applications received at the last checking of the mailbox.
2. Lisa will check the mailbox on Wednesday and e-mail folks of its contents.
3.Joe is to write a job description of the producer's function.
4. As no one was sure of Peter's intent as far as the directorship of the potential play, Mark
will run it by Peter when he sees him at school.
5. Pending the outcomes of several of the above mentioned items, Lisa will run more articles
in the Ellsworth, Belfast and Bangor papers.
6. Joe is willing to contact Suzi and Brian Leeman, who were enthusiastically suggested as possible
co-producers for the show.
After entertaining a variety of possibilities for the show, on motion by Mark, seconded
by Lisa, and with all in favor, the decision to present OKLAHOMA! was approved.
In other news, Cindy reported that Principal Tom Jandreau favors the hanging showcases
we were interested in having installed in the auditorium lobby for the Donors and Supporters List. Cindy will get measurements
of the area and we will pursue the purchase at the next meeting.
There being no further business, on motion by Joe, seconded by Cindy, with all in
favor, the meeting adjourned at 7:35.
