Dear BACAS member:
The Bucksport Area Cultural Arts
Society is continuing their work in the Bucksport area. This last year, under
our auspices, Bucksport Community Theater brought Oklahoma to the Bucksport Auditorium and this year BCT is presently
working on a production of Cinderella for the summer of 2007. We are excited
that Sandi Blanchette has agreed to be the director of this year’s production.
Be sure to check the BACAS (www.bacas.org) and Bucksport Community Theater’s (www.bucksporttheatre.org) website, as well as the local newspapers, for times and dates.
BACAS would like to thank
the many people who supported our 2006 summer Quilt fundraiser. We were able
to raise $758.00 with Cindy Goodwin of Searsport being our lucky recipient of this quilt.
We continue our fundraising efforts with “Adams” style cobalt blue coffee mugs and pens available at Bittersweet
Gifts here in Bucksport. There are still many seats available in the auditorium
for you to honor or remember a loved one or maybe add their name to our plaque or donors and supporters list. For more information on how to do just that, visit our website.
With some of our fundraising monies
we have been able to make some sound and lighting improvements in the auditorium over the last several months, as well as
install a bulletin board in the lobby of the auditorium where we display the names of our donors and supporters, photos of
some of our past productions, as well as information for upcoming events. As
you know there is much more work that needs to be done and many more enhancements that need to be added to the auditorium
and, of course, we haven’t forgotten our goal of a Grand Piano.
Supporting cultural events in Bucksport
is something BACAS is proud to do. We have sponsored a variety of events over
the last several years and were proud to again be asked to support the Teen Talent night this past year, as part of the annual
Bucksport Bay Festival. The town of Bucksport
has also approached BACAS to help with a summer performance series for this year which we are quite excited about.
To all of you who support us through
your membership dues, we offer a hearty thank you! We hope you will continue
to support our efforts either through your annual membership renewal or your continued participation via the payroll deduction
plan. The membership renewal form is on the bottom of this letter, which you
can cut and mail to the address listed below. If you have received this letter
in the mail and would like to receive it through your e-mail address, please give us your e-mail address when you send in
your membership and we will add you to our listings. This also enables us to
keep you up to date with any new information and events. We do not share this
information with anyone else.
BACAS meets the last Tuesday of
every month, except for December, at the Bucksport Town
office at 6:30 pm and we would love to have you join us. We are always looking for new faces and ideas, so come share your thoughts and help us bring more cultural
events to the Bucksport area. If you would prefer to just contact us with some
