I purchased a NIB LOTR LE in early 2011. Here are some mods I have done to it to enhance the gameplay and appearance. All of the mods are reversible and do not alter the original game. The pictures can be slow to load on this page. Just keep refreshing (F5) until they fully load.

Removed the mirror with eye. You never really see the eye and the mirror looked silly.  The backboard has a graphic that extends to the right side. I also removed the ball trap piece to the right of the Barad-Dur tower as it looked lame.

Hobbits in the Shire where they belong. Had to lower the plastic to clear the glass.

Army of the Dead with deflector into the wireform.

Ringwraiths above Sword with silly graphic plastic behind removed and red light in the group of figures. Looks better IMHO.

Map of Middle Earth instead of the girls. I liked the girls, but the graphic was weak. These are magnets so the originals are underneath.

The One Ring shooter of course! Check out my custom shooters link.

POTD not random enough. Modified by adding rubber and moving a post to make each rollover equal in width at entrance.

Legolas above his ramp and he covers the switch.

LOTR topper with foot lights for figurines.  Mounting method does not involve violating the cabinet at all.

Light up Saruman topper. About 7" tall. The Palantir flickers and looks really cool.

Flipper coolers made from standard PC case fans and cardboard using hot glue and hardware. The original coils get hot and weak. Then the Ring shot is very difficult to make. These coolers work great and are wired into the game's 12VDC.

Ring funnel painted black. Looks much better with only a little of the opto red showing.
