Typical Day’s Schedule for Campers
9:00 – 9:15 am Campers get dropped off /Get into suits, shirts, & shorts.
9:15 – 9:30 am Classroom Session (Stroke Presentation)
9:30 – 10:30 am Pool Session I
10:30 – 11:20 am Video Taping/Starts/Turns
11:20 – 11:30 pm Dress/Prepare for Lunch
11:30 – 12:00 pm Lunch
12:00 – 12:45 pm Video Review
12:45 – 1:45 pm Pool Session II
1:45 – 2:00 pm Shower/Dress/Prepare to Leave
Andy Weinberg / Middlebury College Assistant Swimming Coach
Prior to Andy’s arrival to Middlebury College this summer, he had been the Head Swimming Coach and Physical Education Teacher at Pekin Community High School in Pekin, IL for the past 12 years.
- While at Pekin Community High School, Andy was selected as the Illinois Sectional Coach-of-the-Year 6 of his 12 years.
- His teams won a total of 11 Conference and Sectional Championships in central Illinois, and he has had 12 Illinois State Finalists and 5 High-School All-Americans, including a boys’ 200 Medley Relay.
- His girls’ teams have posted a 94-33 dual-meet record, and his boys’ programs have gone 90-24 while Andy was at the helm.
- As a former high school and collegiate swimmer, Andy was a distance freestyle specialist who qualified for Junior Nationals, and was an Illinois State Champion in the 1500 & 1650 Freestyle events.
- As the Camp Director, Andy will be overseeing all aspects of the camp to ensure a productive, fun, and safe environment for all campers to learn the proper stroke and racing techniques.
Peter Solomon / Middlebury College Head Swimming Coach
Coach Solomon, who was selected as the 2008 NESCAC Coach-of-the-Year, recently finished his 11th season as Head Swimming Coach at Middlebury College where his women’s team finished 7th at the NCAA’s, and his men placed 17th.
- In 2002, the Middlebury men’s team won the school's first ever NESCAC Championships, and in 1999, finished in 5th place at the NCAA’s.
- As a competitive swimmer, Solomon was an Olympic Trials and Division I NCAA Qualifier, as well as a Junior National Champion and Record Holder in the 200 Back.
- Coach Solomon will be on hand each afternoon to help with the video review sessions and work with the campers with their technical needs.
