ARE WE A WELL ARMED MILITIA?

A Friend of mine recently said,
"Try as hard as they will, the government hasn't been able to disarm ALL
the people! And since 9/11, hundreds of thousands of guns and rifles have been
sold. The government also knows there is a large underground army that is ready
and willing to go against them. If everything collapses and people take to the
streets, like they did in
The question is, Are we a WELL ARMED MILITIA? Or, is the Unorganized
Militia relegated to fighting with sticks and rocks, while the tyrannical
government has Machine Guns and Grenades. Not possible? Look at the Arma-Lite M15-A4 Carbine. It comes with a Leupold Close Quarter/Tactical Scope. I thought, Nice
Firearm. But then I noticed a message stamped on the receiver, and reality hit
me right in the face. HARD! Stamped on the receiver of the Aramalite
M15-A4 Carbine is this notice: "Restricted For
Government Or Law Enforcement Use ONLY". And that's when it hit me like a
ton of Bricks. The Unorganized Militia may Already be
DEAD! Not possible, you say? Think about it. Modern advancements in Firearms
technology and Military Small Arms are ALREADY being DENIED to the Private
Citizen. In fact, We, the Unorganized Militia (as recognized by the US
Constitution, US Code, most State Constitutions; including the New Hampshire
Constitution), have been limited for 70 years to such ancient technology as the
century old Semi-Auto and Bolt Action Rifle. The National Firearms Act of 1934
restricted the sale of PROPER Militia Arms, thus depriving the Unorganized
Militia the Tools necessary to defend our Nation from Tyranny or Invasion! And
the 1934 NFA was just the first in an endless stream
of "Infringements" that followed! Today, even Semi-Auto copies of
these Militia Arms are banned from import and or manufacture. Many States and
Municipalities ban their possession or transfer outright. The same is true for
High Capacity Magazines. And Laser Sights. And Body Armour. Starting to see a trend?
We the People have been restricted from owning and possessing the very
tools our Founders intended that we would NEVER be forbidden from owning! That
our Founders intended that every Citizen be able to Own and to Carry Military
Small Arms, compatible with the weapons that are carried by the Military, is
undeniable. I can tell you that when the Founding Fathers used the word
militia, it meant something different to them than what it means to many today. The National Guard didn’t exist when
the 2nd Amendment was written. It came into existence well over a century
later. The Bill of Rights was adopted in 1791. The act that created the
National Guard wasn’t enacted until 1903. In May of 1792, five months
after the adoption of the 2nd Amendment, the Militia Act was passed. That act
distinguished between the enrolled (or unorganized) militia and the organized
militia. Before the passing of that act, there was only the enrolled (or
unorganized) militia, which was the body of all able-bodied men between the
ages of 17 and 44, inclusively, and it is that militia to which the 2nd
Amendment refers. It couldn’t refer to the organized militia because it
didn’t exist yet. The 2nd Amendment was to ensure that this body of
citizens is armed and that’s why the Founding Fathers thought to place it
in the Bill of Rights. Legally, both militias still exist. Read the Militia
act. It will explain what the militia meant to the Founding Fathers. It will
also show that the 2nd Amendment came before the Federal law that created the
organized militia, and provide evidence that what they referred to as the
enrolled militia—the body of citizens—were allowed to arm
themselves. In fact, read this quote
from the New Hampshire State Constitution written in 1784, 7 years BEFORE the
adoption of the 2nd Amendment and the passing of the Militia Act:
"Composition of the Militia - The Unorganized Militia shall consist of all
able-bodied residents of the State who are 18 years of age or older, who are,
or have declared their intention to become, citizens of the United
States". Here’s a quote by Elbridge Gerry, a representative to
Congress from
The questions we must ask then, is why do we allow these infringements,
and to what end does the Government impose them? And how will the restriction
of the Unorganized Militia from owning these new and advanced Firearms affect
it's ability to protect and defend the Nation, either from an out of control
Government or foreign invader? I believe we are ignoring the threat that these
advancements in firearms technology pose to us. And lest we recognize this
fact, and fast, we soon may see the day when the arms that we have been
"Allowed" to own will compare to the Governments Arms like a stick
compares to a Cruise Missile! Not true, you say? What about the new
"Objective Individual Combat Weapons System" or OICW?
According to Hubert Hopkins, his company's OICW is "the
difference between the bow and arrow and the modern rifle". He states the OICW will "actually be able to hit targets completely
behind barriers". In addition to 5.56mm projectiles, the OICW will fire 20mm explosive rounds containing
miniaturized electronics that can detonate the munitions in mid-air. The OICW will render taking cover behind barriers or around
corners useless. Do you think the OICW will ever be
available to the Unorganized Militia? Don't bet on it. And this is just the tip
of the Iceberg! The Russians have developed a Laser Weapon, which temporarily
blinds enemy troops. It weighs just 10 ounces and is fired from a grenade
launcher attached to a rifle. HSV Technologies of
So, I ask the question once more. ARE WE A WELL-ARMED MILITIA? Something
to think about!!
