HUGH A FROST was born about 1839, the place and state unknown at this time. He died on
18 Aug, 1865 at age 26 years, and was buried in Quint Cemetery in Sanford, Maine [YCCI, pg 1711].
Gravestone (or transcription of) says 'member of 2nd Mass Heavy Art Co E" - he was actually
in Co H of this MA regiment [E was the company he served with in the 27th ME Infantry] , having enlisted
on 3 Sept, 1864 as a private, age 27, his residence given as Ware, MA. He was discharged on 26 June, 1865 in New Berne, NC.
Less than 2 months later he had died, perhaps taking place in Sanford, but currently unclear.
He is found in the 1850 and 1860 censuses, both times living in North Bridgewater, Plymouth, MA, the earlier date
he was listed twice (age 12 living with Christopher Branagan, birthplace unk, and with Luther and Eliza Gould at age 13, born
ME). In the latter census, his birth place was listed as NH, and lived with John Tilden and his family, a shoemaker.
