World Archery Congress - Relevant decisions

World Archery has given more time for youth to develop.

The cadets will remain in this category until the year of their 17th birthday.

Juniors until the year of their 20th birthday.

This will help the transition to the true elite level and it is in line with the Youth Olympic Games.

For practical reasons, this new rule will apply

as of 1 January 2010.

The current rule is:

Cadet to year of their 16th birthday.

Junior to year of their 18th birthday.

I do not know at this time what that will do to the present rule of JOAD to year of 18th birthday, but every indication is it will change to match the World Archery recomendations.

USA Archery directors meet in November!!
