Rules and Regulations

1.     The Mount Ararat Archery Club is sponsored and controlled by Mount AraratHigh School (MTA) who will appoint a club advisor/coach who is 21 years old or older.  The advisor/coach will have absolute control of the club on the archery field and have the right to reject or temporarily suspend a member from the club for unsportsmanlike conduct.

2.     The club is registered as a Junior Olympic Archery Club (JOAD) with the National Archery Association (NAA).  All archers must be high school students in good standing as dictated by the school regulations.  Membership in the NAA is not required for the first four official ratings and will not be required in this club unless an individual member decides to do so on his/her own.  Any archer wishing to advance past the official White Star rating must join the NAA in order to do so; otherwise, the archer will receive an MTA certificate of achievement.

3.     A desire to shoot Target Archery and compliance with common Safety procedures and shooting skills will count toward becoming and remaining a member.  Membership will be at the discretion of the club advisor.  Scoring is a method of seeing one's progress and will not count in remaining a member.

4.     The student members will be charged with setting up and taking down the archery field equipment at any time that the club is shooting.

5.  ALL archers will use the bow sling attached to their bow.

ALL archers will use the under-the-chin anchor properly, as taught by the instructor.

ALL female archers (and male archers, designated by the club adviser) WILL use a chest

(clothing) protector.  Any archer may use a protector.

6.  All Shooting rules are listed separately and will be strongly enforced as part of these rules and regulations.
