Who am I ?
When you have come to the
edge of all the light you know, And are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on , Or
you will be taught how to fly. ~Patrick Overter

My name is Leah Kohlstrom. I am married to a wonderful man
and am the mother of three fabulous children born in 2002, 2004, and 2007. The first was born by Cesarian section. The second
was a victorious vaginal birth in a city hosptial and the third an empowering birth at home.
My love for teaching began as a career working with
children with special needs, specifically those with autism, and their families. After navigating the maternity maze
through three pregnancies and three very different births, my focus shifted from encouraging and supporting parents
to advocate for their children to empowering women to advocate for themselves.
Empowering women to make informed choices, especially as
it pertains to issues of fertility, pregnancy, and childbirth is my passion.
My training in Childbirth Education as well as Labor Assistance
is through A.L.A.C.E. (the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators - www.alace.org).
I look forward to hearing from you and talking about how
I can help support you in your childbearing year.

The five of us!
If we hope to create
a non-violent world where respect and kindness replace fear and hatred, we must
begin with how we treat each other at the beginning of life for that is where
our deepest patterns are set. From these roots grow fear and alienation or love and trust. ~Suzanne Arms
