West Central Maine Umpires Association

Welcome to our Website !

 

 

Who are we?

     West Central Maine Umpire Association (WCMUA) is a board of approximately 20 certified ASA umpires based out of the Farmington area.  Our umpires cover Middle School through College games from Livermore Falls to Rangeley. 

     Our focus is primarily on the game of Fast Pitch at the high school level using NFHS rules.  ASA fast pitch and NCAA rules are also taught at our clinics.  Each year we bring in the state's top level umpires to discuss new rules, review existing rules and there interpretations and to teach proper umpire mechanics at our clinics.

      Some of our umpires have been selected to work ASA Junior Olympic (JO) tournaments at the state, regional and national levels.

 

The ASA umpire program is among the nation's largest officiating organizations with over 42,000 officials actively involved each year. ASA officials are nationally recognized as the best trained and proficient in the sport and are involved in competition starting with league play, city, state and national championships. Ultimately, ASA umpires could officiate events such as world championship, Pan American and Olympic competitions.
