like this would be a
good end-of-season ride, so I went and did it only to discover what I
thought would be a 30 mile round tripper turned out to be a 40 miler
due to quite a few additional miles recently added to the trail.

Denise blessed me with a couple of large cookies just after closing time.
Reached trail end late in the day. Had a banana and downed some electrolytes while here.
The slight downgrade on return leg made for good speed. Note dropping temperature.
