Cycling from Amsterdam to
Waterford with a lunch stop in Scotia.
It was a three hour drive from Rindge, NH to Amsterdam, NY. Frank and I disembarked in a church parking lot and Hans set off with the car to meet us for lunch in Scotia. Click pic above to explore the ride in Google maps.
Well, this cyclist sure looks happy.

Too bad Frank rode out of earshot and went three miles down the road before turning back to locate me.
I stopped at Lock 10 to get some photos anyway.
No, I did not do this while I visited. The damage was caused by a flood in 2006.
After 10.3 highway miles, we picked up the trail in Rotterdam Junction.
Brand new trail surface.
Nifty vessel poking along the canal.

Don't you think this guy looks way too happy?

Ah, lunch at the Scotia Diner
Found this nice little avenue called Jay St while using Google maps ....
... so Frank and I explored it by biking through.
On the trail again
Frank snapped this picture while waiting for me to appear at the top of the hill hidden in the woods.

Nice trail
This little guy came very close to being bicycle tired.
View from GE Global Research Center, Schenectady, NY
Overlooking the Mohawk River valley, this is the major hilltop of the ride.
Nice views
Loved it!

Route 87 bridge
The last bridge we crossed and the Hudson River just a block away from the Welcome Center.
That's Hans and John examining the sidewalk in front of the Waterford Welcome Center.
