Garden ProfileShepardson's Garden, located on Rt. 2A in Athol, MA, began nearly 30 years ago as a part-time venture by Esther Shepardson as a venue for selling some of the flowers and vegetables that she and her family grew in the expansive gardens in the back of the house. For the past several years her daughter, Nola Shepardson Telepciak, has been operating an expanded seasonal business that has grown each year and now offers materials for the fall season such as pumpkins and also sells Christmas Trees and wreaths. Additional services have been added to include garden design and installation. Nola's son, Dax Telepciak, works with his mother making this a 3-generation venture.
Shepardson's Garden is not setup for on-line sales or ordering. The Shepardsons welcome visitors to tour their gardens at any time, free of charge, with no obligation to buy. The Shepardson family moved into this 1840's Victorian home in 1961. The Shepardson family has been in this area for over 200 years - since Jonathan Shepardson moved his family to Royalston, MA in 1790. Esther Shepardson was a teacher at Athol High School for many years.
