From "TEA A Magazine" by Bradford Ross (Nov/Dec 1997):
Continue along Route 130 until you get to Mashpee - one of the fastest growing areas in Massachusetts - originally an Indian village. The Tea Shoppe at 13 Steeple Street is set in Mashpee Commons, a brick-front row of shops with street lamps lining the street. Ann and Jane Macdonald have created a sophisticated retreat, where the niceties of a European patisserie are enjoyed. Although there is not a room set aside for gifts, old and new teapots are displayed on a sideboard for sale, along with special tea accoutrements. Leaving Mashpee, stop at the Indian Meeting House on Route 28 - the oldest church building on Cape Cod. It is still used by the Mashpee Tribe during the summer and opened by appointment for visitors. |
