Hi All,
We're just back from Boston, where we had what we call a "feel good" visit -- we left feeling really good about things! Dave's counts are continuing to drop -- they're down around 5, from 6.9 last week -- and the rest of his blood numbers are normal. The doctor is very pleased with how well Dave is doing. No side effects or other complaints since starting STI last month. He did his usual poke, prod, look and listen, and said...well, he couldn't really find the right words, so he gave Dave a thumbs up and a big smile!
He mentioned that as soon as STI (now officially known as Gleevec) is FDA approved, the clinical trial Dave is in will end. We'll continue to go to Boston for follow-up appointments, but get the drugs locally at the pharmacy. Our next appt. is scheduled for June 1st. That's all for now.
