August 1,2005 - Happy 5 Years PLUS!
Dave went to Dana Farber today for his 5 year checkup. It was suppposed to be in June, but keptbeing re-scheduled to a later date, first by us, then by Dr. Soiffer. I guess it's good news when your doctor feels he can move back appointments. They were pretty strict about keeping on schedule 5 years ago.
Dave continues to do well. All of his counts are normal. If the results of the PCR test are
still negative (normal), we'll reduce the daily dose of Gleevec to 300 mgs. (from 400). Dr. S.
wants us to come back in 6 months.
UPDATE: Got the results from Dave's PCR test and they are normal, he's started taking the smaller dose of Gleevec. We'll see what happens in 6 months (which will be his 6 year checkup!)
