February 8, 2000 - Tests, tests & more tests

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick update about the latest goings on.

Dave went to the hospital here in Burlington (Fletcher Allen Health Care - FAHC) for some pre-admission tests. They checked his lungs and heart. They're above average for his age. That's a good thing. They did a chest x-ray and a TB test. He doesn't have the results of the TB test. Anyway, FAHC will send the results to Dana Farber.

The next step is to go to Boston on the 23rd for a radiation consult, where they'll tell us all the things that will happen as a result of the radiation (then we'll sign a consent form!), a lung block film (where they'll create a shield for his lungs to be used while he is undergoing the radiation), we'll meet with the social services person, the doctor, and the nurse again, and we'll do a tour of the transplant floor.

So that's the latest.

We're doing well otherwise. Trying to stay warm. And the days are getting longer -- it's always nice to leave work and have it still be daylight.

Talk to you all soon.

Allison

p.s. Sorry, I haven't updated the website in a while (Dave updated his page). We'll try to get something new up there this weekend.
