March 12, 2000 -- Day 3 Howdy Y'all! Oh no! Jon's southern drawl is rubbing off on us!! We're off to a pretty good start today. Dave was a little sick this morning, but he's been fine since. He went for a walk around the unit, and was sitting in the chair doing puzzles when I got here. He ate breakfast and kept it down. It's another lovely, raining, gray day here in Boston. Dave decided he didn't want to go outside today. Lois and I went out for breakfast. I took us on another walking tour of Boston. We wanted to go to IHOP for breakfast, and I knew it was down Beacon Street, I just didn't know how far. So we took the T for 3 stops (we got off at the last stop before it went underground), and started walking. We walked for a ways (probably between 1/4 and 1/2 mile) and I joked that the next T stop is probably right in front of IHOP. Sure enough, we finally get there, and they're right next to each other. IHOP was packed, so we didn't bother going in. Instead, we hopped the T back to Brookline and went to a place called Fresh City Wraps. They have all kinds of things that they put in a tortilla and you pick them up and eat them. We got a couple of breakfast wraps that were pretty good. Jon and Donnie are heading back south today. The had a 10:30ish flight out, so they gave Dave a call before they left. Hopefully they had a good trip back (and a good visit while they were here). So that's about it for now. The doctors are still pleased with Dave's progress, and say he's right where he should be in the whole process. And the nurses love him. They tell me what a great guy he is. Of course he is! That's why I married him! Talk to you all later. Allison |
