March 22, 2000 -- Day 13 -- Almost outta here!!
Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know that Dave is making great progress and will likely get his butt kicked out of here this weekend!
The doctors are pleased with how well he's doing, his white blood cell counts are up to 1350 (check the Updates page for more information), and he hasn't had a fever in several days. His antibiotics will be stopped today, and if he doesn't develop a fever, and his counts keep going up, they'll probably let him out this weekend.
We'll stay at Shannon's House for about a week so we can check in at the hospital, and then we'll be heading back to beautiful Vermont!! We can't wait!
Thank you to all of you for your prayers, positive thoughts, good vibes, cards, messages and all the other nice things you've done. We really believe that you were all instrumental in helping Dave recover so quickly. We're not out of the woods yet (just the hospital), so please keep all that good stuff coming! It will take about 6 months before Dave feels human again, and a year before he's back to "normal".
