March 23, 2000 -- Day 14 -- Our first kiss!!
Today was the first time since March 4th that I've been able to enter Dave's room without a mask and gloves, and he was able to give me a hug and a kiss!! Boy was that nice!
His counts are still going up, and the formula they use to measure the percentage of something or other (ANC -- absolute neutrophyl count -- see, it's something or other) was really high (which is good), so that's why I can come in without the mask and gloves. They call this a reintroduction period -- where Dave is exposed to my germs before he leaves the hospital.
They're still planning to kick him out on Saturday, so I'm getting the room at Shannon's House cleaned up.
It's finally a sunny and warm here in Boston. Let's hope it stays that way for Dave's first foray outside in a few weeks.
