Hi! Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving! Ours was quiet and uneventful -- but we had much to be thankful for this year.

We were in Boston today (Monday) for Dave's check up. It, like Thanksgiving, was uneventful -- more like a well-care visit to the doctor. We like that! The doctor did his usual poke, prod, look, and listen, and said Dave was doing great. His counts are all normal. He wanted to give Dave a flu shot, but since Dave is sensitive to eggs (and the vaccine is carried in an egg suspension -- or something like that), he decided that maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea. So Dave has sworn to continue to wash his hands like a fiend.

Dave will continue the two medications he's on until March (the one year mark), which is when we go back for the next appointment. At that appt., the doctor will do another bone marrow biopsy and we'll see how things are going then.

So all in all, everything's looking great. Dave's energy is back up to pre-diagnosis levels. And he's been given the official okay to go back to work full time, so he'll start that next week.

It's humbling to see people in the waiting room at the clinic with their masks and gloves and hats on. It wasn't so long ago that Dave was one of those people. One of the "games" we play while we're waiting is to try and guess which of the people waiting are the patients. Sometimes when you see a couple sitting there, you can't really tell. I like to think that when people see us, they can't quite be sure which of us is the one there to visit the doctor.

Stay warm and dry, or cool, depending on where you are!

Talk to you soon.

Allison
