All umpires interested in being considered
to work high school playoff games must attend a three-man clinic every
three years. Last clinics were in 2008 so renewal is due this
year. See Maine ASA
website for dates and locations. 2009 clinic dates TBA.

Please take a look at the JO Tourney
schedule under 'Calendar of Events' for the summer schedule. You
should clear your calendar for one or more of these weekends and call
some games. You will get a chance to see some of the top JO
players in the state. Before signing up for one of these
tourneys please be sure you are available to work that weekend at any
location needed.

We will be using
The Arbiter for our assigning
program again this year. This is an online program that each official
can log into to view/print their assignments, block dates, accept new assignments,
get email reminders of upcoming games and see
who they are working with. The schools will also log into the
program to see who they have for officials for each game, add new games
and to determine the fees for each umpire. More info on this program will be made available
at one of the clinics. Please keep your info updated.
