This has gotten to be a fairly complex area; especially with the explosion of interest in Europe in WASTE
to ENERGY biorefineries; and in some regions of the world in hydro---Maine for tidal energy, British Columbia for micro hydro
and in-river turbines, Vietnam on small hydro, etc.
There are blogs with many layers of technical details; and groups that seek to restore water mills. On the other side of the energy fence are militant environmentalists seeking to remove dams and other impediments to fish migration and breeding, who promote a negative view of micro hydro.
