April 5, 2000 -- Day 27 -- Counts are going up
Hi everyone!
We got the results of Dave's blood tests back -- his white cells are at 1.73, HCT (hematocrits -- the red cells) are at 29.9, and platelets are 56. All of them are going up! The percentages of ANCs is also pretty good, so it looks like his marrow is doing its thing!
Other than that, there's not much new to report. We got our iMac back (yea!). The power button got stuck, so the machine wouldn't turn on. I tell ya, these technical things!!
I went in to work yesterday to visit the folks there. It was nice to see them all again. They all wanted to know how Dave was doing, and they gave me big hugs and welcomed me back. That was pretty nice. I'm planning to go back to work next Tuesday, the 10th. I'll make sure Dave is up and doing okay before I head out. He's been fixing his own breakfast and lunch, so I know he's okay with that. Dinner is more than he feels like dealing with, tho, so I take care of that.
It was a chilly day today. I sure hope it warms up soon! Dave has ventured as far as the mailbox -- maybe when it get warmer we can walk to the corner (it's across the street!).
