Yes, research laboratories, office buildings and banks are allowed.
HOWEVER, so are:
manufacturing
warehouses
gas stations
automobile garages and repair shops
appliance repair shops
contractor yards & storage yards
firearm shooting range
There are other zoning options that would limit the above uses and still allow for office and professional space as well
as retail consistant with residents' needs. Many people did not even know that there were businesses and buildings
up the old Industrial Drive until the 111 project laid the whole area bare. Now we have a highly visible quadrant, with
easy access to 93, Salem and points east. It would seem prudent to slow down zoning changes and to consider what would
be the best use of this land.
